Drawing on various regional and country contexts, the review synthesizes literature to examine how theory’s core concepts: person, health, environment and nursing can be used to understand and address the self-care needs and SRHR outcomes of this vulnerable population. By using the fundamental principles of Orem’s theory to guide analysis and discussion, this review highlights the importance of theory-informed interventions that foster autonomy and effectively address the healthcare needs of this vulnerable population and fostering self-care
